The Rogues Kick Ass

Spoilers for Flash #2!

Aside from the preview page we saw a few days ago, the only (possible) reference to a Rogue is Linda’s troubled reference to “the Piper”, and it’s interesting that the name is specifically capitalized. We still don’t know if it refers to Hartley, but it’ll be interesting to find out what’s happening. Hartley would never willingly hurt her, so presumably any harm to her isn’t voluntary on his part or it’s just a red herring to make us think it’s him.

Earlier, Wally saw a mysterious figure outside their house and I wonder if it might be the Folded Man, but that’s just a wild guess knowing that he’ll be appearing soon. It could be anyone.

Day Twenty-Five: “Do I look like I knew that?”

“Can’t wait to see their place, mate.  I bet it’s all in a ridiculous green and yellow striped colour scheme, and probably has ice skates all over.”

Len was in a far less chipper mood than Digger, but was nonetheless glad to have someone tagging along for backup during a visit to his sister’s house.

“No.  It looks pretty normal, but still…he lives there.”

Prompt #23

Fanfiction Fandom: Flash Rogues and Spider-Man

Day 22: “No, you won’t understand. Ever.”

The weird Flash Rogue/ Spider-Man villain crossover almost no one asked for, wherein I make Max Dillon (Electro) and Roscoe Dillon (The Top) cousins.

Nice job! I’d been wanting to write this darned crossover for over a decade now, but the ‘hook’ for the story would never quite come to me and it’s always sat on the back burner. Glad to see you’ve tackled it, and this is great :D

I like that Roscoe’s got his trigger, and Len actually cares enough (even if it’s about just Lisa) to try to keep him from melting down. And of course, I love to see the meetup between the two Dillon boys!

Oh wow they really leaned into the Jekyll/Hyde parallels back then huh

They sure did! Though Alvin’s creator didn’t seem to have intended it that way; he was into a weird paranormal “astral twin” thing in which two random people were psychically linked their whole lives, and evil impulses would flip between them so Albert was bad when Alvin was good (and vice versa). But after Crisis, William Messner-Loebs took it in a more Jekyll and Hyde direction, which culminated in Alvin revealed to be a construct of the Stone and thus not a real person.

Oh, wow. He’s not Digger awful, but he comes close 😬

Honestly, comics Alvin is arguably worse than Digger! I actually toned him down on purpose; in the comics he once turned a woman to gold for not going on a date with him (Albert turned her back later). And he used to turn Lisa’s underwear into gold and openly leered at Linda (while pretending to be Albert), because he was pure gremlin. Alvin was basically all of Albert’s negative impulses given human form by the Stone, so I guess he couldn’t help being awful.

Alvin being a weird creeper under the cut. Warning for overt sexual harassment.

Absolutely delightful! Love how fond Axel is of his predecessor, even if James isn’t quite so sure about it! Great use of shading and greyscale on this :)

re:Mick: judging by what happens in Superman’s dream (in a world where Krypton never exploded, no one takes Jor-El seriously anymore due to him being wrong about the planet exploding, and he ends up in a growing fascist social movement) i can see it going wrong for sure

Yeah, dreams sometimes go out of control, and some people just have deep-buried issues that will overwhelm them even though they wish that weren’t the case. Mick clearly wants to be happy, but he’s got urges that he’s apparently unable to control.

Day Twenty-Two: “Who takes care of you?”

The neighbour knocked at the door with some hesitation.  She didn’t know the man who lived there, after all, but he did have a reputation for being strange and rude.  She’d only seen him twice before, and one of those times he’d leered at her.

But she was a social worker, and she thought it good to help the people around her whenever possible.  Maybe the man was just misunderstood.

Ahhh I thought this looked like RWBY’s art style! :D

I’m just so confused about why Marco’s posing like that :>

tricksterrune replied to your text post:
Could Mark look any more like Loki?

He could, but Marvel would sue!

ammomancer replied to your text post:
What’s that gif of Len from?

From DC Super-Hero Girls (the first series), episode title “Fortress of Solidarity”!

Spoilers for Flash #2!

This is the official preview for the issue. You can also see the pages at Adventures In Poor Taste.

Evan’s not in this scene, but he’s referenced in it because Wally sees the parallels between this moment and the one with him a month ago.

Spoilers for Justice League x RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen!

I had no idea what this was at first lol, but apparently Part Two of the above-mentioned movie was released this week. It has Marco and a Mirror Master in it.

And Dinah’s got good advice, honestly :>

Spoilers for Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #1! (say that five times fast)

I didn’t think very highly of the issue, to be honest, but it’s okay and not terrible or anything. It’s just one issue thus far, but I wouldn’t have guessed that a crossover between DC/Godzilla/King Kong would be dull…and yet this kind of is. Maybe future issues will pick up once we see more of the kaiju, since they aren’t in this one much.

The one thing I did like was Grodd seeing King Kong as a god, which is an obvious development but still a nice touch, and it seems like their relationship will be developed further in future issues. I’d love to see Team Gorilla against everyone else, and hope we get something like that. I’m also hoping for more monsters in general and less Toyman, who is extremely annoying (deliberately so); he may drive the plot better than the kaiju, but most of the people reading this book probably want to see more of Godzilla and less of him.
